Tiny antenna enables unparalleled WLAN, Bluetooth performance
Small antenna is first of its size to support dual-band narrow and wide frequencies
Measuring 12 x 6 x 2 mm, the BlackChip miniature antenna is presented as the industry's first at that size to combine dual-band narrow and wide frequency-range support-2.4 to 2.5 GHz and 4.9 to 6.0 GHz-with RF performance of 2- and 3-dB peak gain across those respective frequencies. The omnidirectional antenna provides a space-saving single solution to designers of WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi, MIMO, and Bluetooth devices in applications such as wireless headsets, tracking devices, and VoIP equipment.
The antenna weighs only 0.21 g and operates in temperatures from -40° to 85°C. Other features include an SWR of less than 2.0:1, nominal impedance of 50 Ω, and an SMA female edge-mount connector.
Compatible with automated pick-and-place machinery, the RoHS-compliant antenna can be placed on a PCB similarly to other components.
