The Intel Curie module targets wearable devices as well as consumer and industrial edge products. It has a 32-bit Quark microcontroller SoC with 384 Kbytes of flash and 80 Kbytes of SRAM. The module includes an integrated DSP sensor hub and pattern matching technology.
The tiny low–power board comes with Bluetooth Low Energy, a 6-axis combo sensor with accelerometer and gyroscope, battery charging capabilities, and pattern matching capabilities for analysis of sensor data – intended to enable quick and easy identification of actions and motions. The module runs a new software platform created just for this application. Curie boards are sampling now, pending FCC approval.
