Tiny PA reduces component count

The µPG2251T6M GaAs power amplifier (PA) eliminates the need for RF component matching, which reduces component count, saves BOM cost, and simplifies procurement. The part measures 2 x 2 mm and is suited for applications such as Bluetooth and 802.15.4/ZigBee modules.

At 2.45 GHz and with a PIN of –5 dBm, the PA offers a frequency range from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, a PAE of 47%, an output power of 25 dBm at Vcont of 1.8 V and –45 dBm at Vcont of 0 V (shutdown). Housed in a 12 pin TQFN, the part offers a current consumption of 230 mA at Pout = 25 dBm. Second and third harmonics are –35 and –30 dBc, respectively. ($0.82 ea/100,000 — available now.)
