Tiny quartz crystal resists solder cracking

Ideal for the CPU clock in automotive engine controls, the NX3225GB quartz crystal series is designed to have a high resistance to solder cracking even when applied with lead-free solder — withstanding 2,500 cycles of going from −30° to 120°C without cracking. These crystals operate in a fundamental frequency range of 9.84375 to 50 MHz with a frequency tolerance at 25°C of ±50 ppm.

Their maximum equivalent series resistance is 300 Ω in the frequency range of 9.84375 to 12 MHz, 120 Ω from 12 to 20 MHz, and 100 Ω from 20 to 50 MHz. The parts measure 3.2 x 2.5 x 0.07 mm, operate over –40° to 150°C, have a standard load capacitance is 8 pF, conform to AEC-Q200, and are RoHS compliant. ($0.30 ea/10,000 — 8 to 12 weeks ARO.)
