Tiny transformers have 1500 V isolation

The LPD5030V series of miniature flyback transformers offer 1500 Vdc (1000 Vrms) winding-to-winding isolation in the smallest package size available. They have inductance values from 4.7 to 220 uH and current ratings to 1.9 A. They can also be used as coupled shielded power inductors in SEPIC converters or as common mode chokes.

The units are just 2.9 mm high and 4.8 mm square. They have a 1:1 turns ratio, an excellent coupling coefficient of  0.97, and leakage inductance of 0.11 to 0.54 μH. The inductors meet UL functional safety for TNV-1 to SELV applications and cost $1.17 ea/1,500.
