Tiny Wi-Fi module takes just 5 μA in standby

The xPico compact embedded Wi-Fi module (XPC100100B-01) provides easy and fast machine-to-machine and mobile-to-machine connectivity with simultaneous access-point and client functionality. The 24 x 16.5 mm unit handles IEEE 802.11 b/g and IEEE 802.11n (single stream) at 2.4 GHz and has 256-bit AES encryption.

The module runs on 3.3 V with a standby current of 5 μA. At 13 dBm transmitting in 802.11g mode at 54 Mbits/s it takes 255 ma typical. The device operates from -40° to 85° C, with a heat sink needed over 70° C. From $27.80 ea/5,000.
