Parallel Resistance Calculator

Parallel Resistance Calculator

The parallel, or shunt, resistance calculator can calculate the equivalent resistance of 2 to 4 parallel resistances. The units will be consistant for all calcultion (results will be in kohms for kohm input values).

Input single resistor:

R1
R2
R3
R4

R equivalent
Parallel resistance is calculated as follows: 1 / Requivalent = 1 / R 1 +1 / R 2 +1 / R 3 + ... 1 / R n

For example: for four resistors with values 10Ω, 20Ω, 30Ω, and 40Ω in parallel, the resistance R equivalent is calculated as follows:
1 / Requivalent = 1 / 10 +1 / 20 +1 / 30 +1 / 40
1 / Requivalent = 25/120
R equivalent= 4.8Ω
