Touchscreen controller IC cuts power

Housed in a QFN-16 package, the STMPE811 four-wire resistive touchscreen controller features autonomous functionality to minimize demands on the host processor. Built-in features include an internal 12-bit ADC for high resolution as well as 128 x 32-bit FIFO data buffers for smooth position tracking.

There are also features for accurate position identification and a window-masking function to support multiple sense windows. Additional features include an operating voltage from 1.8 to 3.3 V, an active current below 1 mA, an idle current less than 1 μA, and a hibernation mode current of 150 nA.
