Toughened heat curing epoxy adhesive

Master Bond- Toughened heat curing epoxy adhesive
Master Bond Supreme 3HT-80 is a one component epoxy that cures very rapidly at lower temperatures. It features high shear and high peel strength along with superior adhesion to dissimilar substrates. This toughened adhesive/sealant also possesses outstanding thermal cycling capabilities.

As a one component system, Master Bond Supreme 3HT-80 cures with heat at a minimal curing temperature of 170-175°F—well below the 250-300°F typically required by one part epoxies. At 175°F, Supreme 3HT-80 will cure in 30 minutes and at 250°F, it will cure in 10 minutes. Optimal physical properties are obtained after a 30 minute cure at 250°F. No mixing is required prior to use and the working life is unlimited. Unlike premixed and frozen systems which require special low temperature storage, Supreme 3HT-80 can be conveniently stored in conventional refrigerators. The shelf life of Supreme 3HT-80 at room temperature is 6-8 weeks and at 40-50°F is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months.

This toughened system offers superior resistance to impact, thermal shock, vibration and stress fatigue cracking while maintaining the moisture, creep, corrosion and thermal resistance typical of epoxy resin adhesives. Supreme 3HT-80 produces strong bonds with both high shear and high peel strengths of 1,800 psi and 15 pli, respectively. Its adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent.

Supreme 3HT-80 is remarkably resistant to many chemicals including water, oil, fuels and many solvents even upon prolonged exposures. It features a wide service temperature range of -100°F to +350°F. The hardened adhesive is a superior thermal insulator. The standard color is white, but other colors are available. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any diluents or solvents. Supreme 3HT-80 is well suited to applications in the aerospace, electronic, electrical, metalworking, and chemical industries where heat sensitive substrates limit permissible temperatures for curing adhesives. Supreme 3HT-80 is available in half-pint, pint, quart, gallon and 5 gallon containers. For ease of application, it is also available in convenient cartridge applicators.
