The TPS562200 is a simple, easy-to-use, 2 A synchronous step-down (buck) converter in SOT-23 package.
The device is specially optimized to operate with minimum external component counts and to also achieve low standby current. This switch mode power supply (SMPS) device employs D-CAP2 mode control with 650-kHz switching frequency. This mode provides a fast transient response and supports both low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output capacitors, such as specialty polymer and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors with no external compensation components.
Input voltage range is 4.5 V to 17 V, and output voltage range is 0.76 V to 7 V. There are integrated 122-mΩ and 72-mΩ FETs, and the TPS562200 has a low shutdown current of less than 10 µA along with 1% feedback voltage accuracy (25°C). Also worth noting – the device has a cycle-by-cycle hiccup over-current limit and non-latch OVP, UVLO, and TSD protections.
TPS562200 operates in Advanced Eco-mode with pulse-skip, which maintains high efficiency during light load operation. The device is available in a 6-pin, 1.6-by-2.9-mm SOT (DDC) package, and it is specified from –40°C to 85°C of ambient temperature.
