Transceiver enables NFC capability in cars

The 13.56-MHz MLX90132 RFID/NFC transceiver IC is a fully integrated, multiprotocol device that supports ISO/IEC protocols 18092, 14443A and B, and 15693, as well as 18000-3. It has been designed to handle subcarrier frequencies from 106 to 848 kHz and baud rates up to 848 kbit/s.

The transceiver embeds tag emulation functionality for NFC support. The digital section of the MLX90132 handles the low protocol layers from API to physical layer using advanced bit and frame decoding functions.

In addition it also offers two modes and six different states of operation. In hibernate state, power consumption is less than 10 µA, while in NFC target the device consumes only 2.5 mA. (Contact Sue Brocious for pricing — samples available now.)
