The latest advance in the VoltBoss corona-free transformers eliminates corona failure (dielectric breakdown) for voltages up to 4.5 kV in a difficult to obtain 1 in.2 footprint. The technology, is important in smaller magnetics devices in operating environments as low as 300 V. The transformer platform measures just over 2 cu. in and weighs 2.5 oz and achieves a partial discharge specification of <10 pC at 4.5 kV.
