Triaxial accelerometer optimizes power use

Optimized for cost as well as power usage, the analog-output LIS302ALK ultracompact “low-g” linear accelerometer provides individual acceleration values for x, y, and z axes and incorporates a power-down mode to 1 µA. With 0.1-ms shock survivability to 10,000 g and a 5 x 3 x 0.9-mm plastic package, the sensor fits a variety of miniaturized motion-sensing applications in portable electronics.

The sensor has an output range of ±2.0 g and can monitor low-frequency vibration with little power consumption. It has built-in self-test capability and is RoHS compliant. ($2.95 ea/30,000-available now.)
