Featuring 120,000-count display resolution, the 5492B True rms benchtop multimeter provides 0.01% basic Vdc accuracy along with a broad range of functions — including dc and true RMS AC voltage and current, two- / four-wire resistance, continuity, diode test, frequency, and period — staring at less than $700.

The meter’s internal buffer, which can store up to 512 readings at a rate of up to 57 readings/s, can be controlled from via the front panel or remotely with SCPI commands through its USB, RS232, or optional GPIB port. The DMM also has advanced triggering and built-in math functions such as rel, max/min, dBm, dB, %, limits, and Mx+B, and it can calculate statistics from buffered readings, such as average reading and standard deviation.
