TruTag Technologies has provided a solution to combat the underground market of counterfeit electronics, and subpar sale of products.

Interestingly enough, the company has been commended with the title of 2014 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. This organization evaluates its candidates by a strong selection process, awarding companies for their world-impacting achievements.

Dave Aikman, TruTag's Managing Director and Head of New Champions at the World Economic Forum, explains that “the diversity of innovative thinking and possible solutions they offer are why leaders from all sectors of society are interested in interacting with the Technology Pioneers.”

Chairman Dr. Hank C.K. Wuh, stated that “it is a great honor for TruTag to be selected as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.” He is “looking forward to discussing the role of innovation for the future of society, and sharing the vision for TruTag to impact the global counterfeit problem, especially in the area of safety and authenticity of food and medicine where the impact of counterfeits on human lives is beyond measure.” Wuh is set to speak during the ceremony during a portion called “Innovating Into the Future.”

TruTag microtags are inconspicuous, edible, and efficient additions to any purchasable product. The innovations are smaller than the width of human hair and used to authenticate an array of objects including food, pharmaceuticals, electronics, industrial components, and consumer goods. Smaller than a particle of dust, the microtags contain millions of optical patterns. By implementing TruTag microtags, this security measure will increase the safety of food and medicine, and combat counterfeiting. The spectral codes placed on the products allow for large quantities and high-value items to be monitored effectively. The TruTag microtags track the item, to guarantee that the product is authentic and of proper quality.

By monitoring items in this way, TruTag microtags will cut down on the counterfeit market of electronics and computer manufacturers. Moreover, the microtags can provide crucial support for military forces and commercial systems from getting attacked. TruTags are also important to major semiconductor manufacturers like battery circuit protection chips, where if a bad chip is used, hazards could occur.
