TTI VP to speak on counterfeit avoidance at SAE 2014 ASTC

Fort Worth, TX – September 2, 2014 – TTI, Inc. global distributor of interconnect, passive, electromechanical and discrete components, has announced that Kevin Sink, TTI Vice President Total Quality will participate as a keynote speaker at the upcoming SAE 2014 Aerospace Systems and Technology Conference (ASTC) during the Obsolescence and Counterfeit Parts Management Technical Session scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2014, in Cincinnati, OH.

Sink is recognized as a top industry expert on counterfeit avoidance and speaks frequently in the U.S. and abroad addressing relevant counterfeit issues and ongoing critical legislation surrounding the topic.

During the counterfeit session, Sink will present, “In Search of a Workable Counterfeit Risk Mitigation Strategy: Lessons Learned in Review of the Current State of the Electronics Industry Regarding Counterfeit Mitigation Requirements for Suppliers.”

Sink commented, “The release of AS6496 for authorized distributors and the DFARS for prime contractors are two new factors for OEMs in the counterfeit prevention landscape this year. Combined with the appearance of new, manufactured counterfeits and the customer finds himself being faced with a lot of changes. CPAS is a good way for participants to get up to speed on the latest developments.”

The counterfeit session is being presented as part of the ASTC two-day technical conference for aerospace systems professionals.
