TVS arrays deliver ESD, EFT, surge protection

The PLR0524P, PLR0524 and PLR0521 transient voltage suppressor (TVS) arrays provide protection from electrostatic discharges (ESD); electrical fast transients (EFT); surges; and lightning. Applications for the PLR0524P and PLR0524 include DVI, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, and USB interfaces. The PLR0521 suit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T; FireWire; wireless communications devices; and USB interfaces.

The TVS arrays offer protection for computing, consumer electronics, and telecommunications devices. The PLR0524P and PLR0524 TVS arrays feature 0.4–pF typical capacitance and. They protect up to four lines and are available in a DFN-10 package. The PLR0524 is used on ASICs that require 9–V at 6–A clamping. The PLR0524P has 16–V clamping and can be used on most PHY applications. They are rated at 60–W peak pulse power per line for an 8/20–µs surge waveform. The PLR0521 also features 0.4–pF typical capacitance with one bidirectional line. It meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD air 15–kV and contact 8–kV requirements and features 80–W peak pulse power per line. (Ea/10,000: PLR0524P, $0.08; PLR0524, $0.10; PLR0521, $0.06 — available now.)
