TVS offers +/-3.5% breakdown voltage tolerance, targets dc adapters

The SMBJXXD series of surface-mount transient voltage suppressors (TVS), provided in a low-profile DO-214AA package, achieve ±3.5 % breakdown voltage tolerance and a low reverse leakage current. The TVS devices are designed to protect sensitive electronics against voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning. The devices are ideal for dc adapter power line protection, power supply snubber circuits, and general voltage surge protection in consumer, computer, industrial, and telecommunication equipment.

Available with unidirectional polarity, the suppressors consist of 47 versions with stand-off voltages from 5 to 188 V. The products offer a temperature range from -55° to 150°C and meet the MSL Level 1 standard, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260°C. Suited for automated placement, the suppressors are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
