Type A cordsets are first with Fieldbus compliance

Simplify field-installation time for harsh-environment applications

The Mini SAC 7/8-in. cordsets are presented as the industry’s first terminated cables to receive official compliance registration in accordance with the Fieldbus Foundation’s FF-844 requirements for H1 Type A cable. The cordsets help to reduce field-installation time for harsh-environment Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus PA Network applications in the chemical, food, and beverage industries.

Type A cordsets are first with Fieldbus compliance

Designed for manufacturers developing cables for Fieldbus H1 (31.25 kbits/s) installations, the H1 Cable Test Specification test cases include — but are not limited to — impedance, capacitive unbalance, connector pin-outs, and attenuation. The Type A overmolded cordset is constructed of instrumentation tray cable and power-limited tray cable, which can be used as open wiring without a metallic sheath or armor between the cable tray and equipment for up to 15 m.

All three connectors feature stainless steel coupling nuts and knurled screws, allowing them to withstand heavy impact and resist corrosion in harsh industrial environments. The connectors are IP 67-rated, RoHS-compliant, and sunlight-resistant. They meet IEC and ISA standards for H1 physical layer. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
