ULP sub-GHz radio consumes low power

Ideal for short-range wireless applications, the ZL70250 ultra-low-power (ULP) RF transceiver requires only 2-mA current consumption to transmit and receive data, enabling extremely long battery life and miniaturization. The part operates in unlicensed frequency bands between 795 and 965 MHz and delivers a data rate of 186 kbits/s to support a wide variety of sensor applications.

The device includes the RF transceiver as well as a Media Access Controller, which performs most link support functions including received signal strength indication (RSSI), clear channel assessment (CCA), sniff, preamble & sync, packetization, and whitening. The device uses standard interfaces, enabling easy integration with a standard microcontroller or DSP. With its 2 x 3-mm die size the ZL70250 CSP can be integrated together with other compact ICs in multichip modules. Supply voltage is from 1.2 to 1.8 V.
