Ultracapacitor module reduces bus bars, ESR

The iMOD X module series is a single-piece extruded housing for application across all of its axial ultracapacitors. It allows for a flexible voltage configuration to meet customer requirements. The patent pending, single-piece extruded housing features end-to-end cell laser welding that r educes the number of bus bars, and the equivalent series resistance. It also offers voltage balancing, front facing terminals, structural thermal bridges, and customizable end plates.

The ultracapacitor module helps correct disproportionate heating and aging of center cells that occurs in basic modules. It lets every cell be in thermal contact with the outside of the housing, allowing for even heating and cooling, as well as a reduced heat generation.
