The LTM4622 dual 2.5-A or single 5-A step-down micro-module regulator is housed in a 6.25 x 6.25 x 1.82-mm LGA package. The device requires only three capacitors and two resistors and the solution occupies <1 cm2 . It includes the switching dc/dc regulator, MOSFETs, inductors and supporting circuitry. The device can also be mounted on the backside of the PCB.
The micro-module regulator suits height-restricted systems such as PCIe and advanced mezzanine cards for AdvancedTCA carrier cards in embedded computing systems. The input supply voltage extends from 3.6 to 20 V and can also be configured to operate from a 3.3-V input supply. The output supports voltages from 0.6 to 5.5 V. Output voltage total dc-accuracy is guaranteed at ±1.5% including load and line regulation, from –40°C to 125°C.
