UPS delivers 4,500 W in 3U space

Targeting dense data-center environments, the rack-to-tower HP R5500 UPS offers 1,500 W/U, 5,000 V/A, or 4,500 W in a 3U space. The supply uses a DSP rather than a transformer and provides voltage regulation without using the battery. Option cards and extended runtime modules provide networking capabilities and load segmentation, and an optional rack-to-tower conversion kit and power management software are offered.

The UPS has two load segments that enable scheduled startups and shutdowns and to independently control separate loads. It also has hot-swappable electronics and batteries. (From $3,099 available now.)
