The PowerAlert Network Shutdown Agent (PANSA) and PowerAlert Local (PAL) programs are compatible with VMware. The PAL software allows end-users to manage UPS systems connected to a computer through USB or serial cables for a basic unattended shutdown. The PANSA program enables networked computers not directly connected to a UPS to shut down automatically when a power problem is detected, and is configurable to respond to specific power events via an SNMP or serial connection.
The power management programs feature auto-discovery of the company’s UPS systems, support redundant UPS configurations, and offer script execution and unattended shutdown. The software allows users to monitor a UPS over a serial port on the ESXi server.
