UPS systems target virtualized environments

The HP UPS R1500 G3 and the HP UPS R/T3000 G2 high-density and high-efficiency uninterruptible power systems suit customers managing space-constrained rack environments. They communicate directly in Web and complex virtualized environments. The systems offer communication firmware, shutdown protection software, and an optional network management card.

The HP R/T3000 G2 uninterruptible power system provides up to 3,300 VA and 3,000 W in a 2U (3.5-in.) design. It features DSP technology in a transformerless design that reduces generated heat. The system includes a rack-to-tower conversion kit for nonrack applications outside the data center or to support multiple tower servers, wiring closets, and blade enclosures. The HP R1500 G3 provides 1,500 VA and 1,050 W in a rack-mount configuration and measures 1U (1.75 in.). The Power Protector software feature serial and USB ports for data exchange with the host computer and remote shut-down. (From $849 each available now.)
