USB 3.0 repeater has adaptive equalization

The PS8710A/B USB 3.0 repeater/redriver IC is said to be the first USB 3.0 repeater/redriver to include automatic adaptive equalization.

The device is needed for 5-Gbit/s SuperSpeed USB, PCB traces longer than about 5 inches from the host controller, which will require signal reconditioning. The PS8710A uses a single 1.5-V supply and the PS8710B a single 3.3-V supply. Both devices are available in a 4 x 4-mm 24-pin TQFN package and are pin compatible with other USB 3.0 repeater/redrivers. ($1.50 ea/high volume — samples available now.)
