The OXU3110 and OXU3111 Superspeed USB 3.0 to SATA controller ICs feature low power and small 6 x 6-mm 48-pin QFN packages. The OXU3111 includes a cipher engine for data encryption and takes only 521 mW typ from a 3.3-V supply. The OXU3111 needs just 479 mW typ.
The chips use either the bulk-only transport Mass Storage Class device protocol or the new USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP). They include a USB 3.0/2.0 PHY and device controller, a SATA II PHY, and a voltage regulator. ($1.50 to $2.00 — available now.)
