USB reference design copies files w/o PC

The VF2F2 reference design, based around the VNC1L-1A USB host/device controller IC, demonstrates how few components and little power is needed to make a simple USB mass-storage copier that can copy files without a PC. The design handles all the directory creation and file operations by itself.

The design is battery operated and needs only about 25 to 30 mA, plus whatever power is required by the USB port devices. A 3-Mbyte file takes only about 6 s to copy from the camera to a memory stick. A module built using this reference design can also be purchased for $35 each. (Reference design, freeavailable now.)
