USB to serial bridge chips have four versions
Four USB-to-serial bridge chip solutions include the CP2104 USB-to-UART, CP2105 USB-to-dual-UART, CP2110 HID-USB-to-UART, and the CP2112 HID-USB-to-SMBus/I2 C bridge. The Human Interface Device (HID) versions comply with the USB-HID class specification natively supported by most operating systems, thus removing the need to install drivers.
The devices integrate a USB 2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, an oscillator, an OTP ROM, and an asynchronous serial data bus with full modem control signals. The 4 x 4-mm 24QFN packaged ICs have a charge pump for in-field programming. ($1.06 ea/10,000 — available now.)
