Vacuum-fluorescent displays
are LCD drop-in replacements
These vacuum-fluorescent display modules feature a brightness of 200
fL and a viewing angle of 140°. The displays offer the same mounting-hole
locations as an LCD and also provide an LCD-compatible interface. Four
levels of brightness control and a power-saving mode are offered.
The devices produce ASCII or Japanese Katakana characters and come in
2 x 16, 2 x 20, 2 x 24, 4 x 20, and 2 x 40 formats. Character height is
5 mm. Other features include a single 5-V power supply requirement, an
8- or 4-bit parallel input, and a –20° to +70°C (standard)
or –40° to +85°C (wide) operating temperature range. (From
