VGA offers 31-dB analog control range

The 800-MHz LTC6412 variable-gain amplifier features a 31-dB analog control range, a 35-dBm OIP3 from a 3.3-V supply, a 10-dB noise figure at the maximum gain setting, greater than 120 dB of SFDR, and a guaranteed maximum conformance error of only 0.45 dB. The VGA operates from 1 to 500 MHz and provides continuous gain adjustment from –14 to 17 dB.

VGA offers 31-dB analog control range

The device’s gain is controlled with either a positive or negative slope control voltage. Using negative gain slope mode, the gain control slope is approximately –32 dB/V at 140 MHz, with a control range of 0.1 to 1.1 V. Available in a 24-pin QFN package, the part consumes 110 mA at 3.3 V. (From $4.69 ea/1,000 — available now.)
