The SN65LVDS324 IC serves as a dedicated LVDS bridge between image sensors and processors. It is said to lower BOM size by 20% and reduce system power by more than 10%. It provides full HD, 1080p60 image quality in a host of video capture applications.
The PBGA59 packaged IC outputs 1.8 V CMOS levels with 10/12/14/16 bits at 18.5 to 162 MHz and supports four high-level input modes: Aptina 1-channel 4-lane, Aptina 1-channel 2-lane, Panasonic 2-channel 2-port, and Sony LVDS parallel. The chip costs $2.65/1,000 and is configured through its I2 C-programmable registers, which must be written to after each power up.
