Are you being served?
I think it was former New York City Mayor Ed Koch who would greet passers-by on the streets with “How am I doing?” I would like to take this opportunity to ask a similar question of the readers of this magazine: How are we doing?
We designed our Web site, like our magazine, to allow you to quickly and easily find the new product information that you need. Did we succeed? We hope we are succeeding in providing you–the electronic design engineer–with new product information in a timely and easy-to-use format. Our magazine and Web site are designed with that primarily in mind. Are we succeeding? While we do receive the occasional unsolicited compliment (and brickbat), in general when it comes to reader feedback it's business as usual. I sometimes wonder, does this mean that you–the readers–are perfectly satisfied with what we are offering, and feel no need to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard)? I hope so. But as the editor of Electronic Products , I also have to consider the possibility that while we may not be doing anything so badly as to elicit your reactions, we could be doing something better. If that's the case, please send me your criticisms and suggestions. Maybe you feel that we should be giving certain types of products or topics more (or less) coverage? Perhaps you feel some aspect of our format leaves something to be desired? Of course, if you would like to let us know what we're doing right, that's fine too! In either case, please don't hesitate to send me your comments and suggestions–they will all be considered. R. Pell, Editor-in-Chief
