Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has expanded its IHLP automotive-grade inductor family with a new case size. The Vishay Dale IHLP 7575GZ-5A is available in a 7575 case size, measuring 19 × 19 × 7 mm. The low-profile, high-current inductor offers up to 30% lower DC resistance (DCR) and up to 35% higher current ratings than devices in the 6767 case size, at a 50% lower cost than devices in the 8787 case size.
The IHLP 7575GZ-5A offers high temperature operation with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 155°C for under-the-hood automotive applications. Other specs include an inductance range of 0.56 to 33 µH and a self-resonant frequency (SRF) range of 4.4 to 50 MHz. The typical DCR range is 1.02 to 25.2 mΩ with a max range of 1.09 to 27.0 mΩ.
The AEC-Q200 qualified inductor targets energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 2 MHz and high-current filtering applications up to the SRF of the inductor. With its high operating temperature, the device is designed for filtering and DC/DC conversion in engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, and entertainment/navigation systems, in addition to noise suppression for high current BLDC motors, windshield wipers, power mirrors and seats, HID and LED lighting, and heating and ventilation blowers.
The IHLP inductors are packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that that is said to reduce buzz noise to ultra-low levels. They can handle high transient current spikes without saturation. Other features include high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock. The device is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green.
Samples and production quantities of the IHLP-7575GZ-5A are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks. Pricing starts at $2.09 each in quantities of 10,000 for U.S. delivery.
Vishay offers a range of automotive-qualified IHLP inductors, including smaller devices housed in the 1212 (3 × 3 mm) case size.
