Visible laser diode is protected

The VLM 2 and VLM 3 series of visible laser diodes have both protective
and troubleshooting circuitry designed in. The devices allow the designer
to detect in-process as well as field-application failures. Testing was
performed to MIL-STD-883C, Method 3015.2, Category B (greater than 2,200
V), with no breakdown. The diodes come with the pointing lens, diode
laser, circuitry, protective housing, and green LED on/off indicator
included. The operating voltage is 3 to 6 Vdc with a current requirement
of 55 mA. The devices are heat sinked, reverse polarity protected, 100%
humidity protected, and CDRH compliant. ($141 ea/100–stock to 3 weeks.)
