The Visiobike is one of the coolest bikes you’ll hear of. As a smartbike, this device becomes intelligent when you integrate your smartphone via Bluetooth connectivity into the bike. Designed by a team directed by Croatian designer Marko Matenda, this invention took some years of research before a prototype was created.
This smartbike’s frame is made from carbon fiber monocoque. There are two different motor options. With the 250W motor, you can reach up to 15.5. mph, and you can go as fast as 28mph with the 500W motor. While you pedal, you will receive electrical motor assistance for a user-friendly ride. Visiobike has a corresponding downloadable app that communicates with the bike and acts like a car’s dashboard. The integrated GPS through the app for your bike-mounted smartphone helps you with on-road navigation; Visiobike can also be calibrated with Google Maps.
Its energy efficiency comes from a 50 cell Panasonic lithium-ion battery with a range of 74.5 miles. There is an automatic gearbox shifter and a really helpful rearview camera for crowded road driving situations and scouting blind spots. Its high grade hydraulic disc brakes from Magura enable sharp yet smooth stopping. Nuvinci N360 hub transmission to enable smooth gear transitions and uses a pedal torque sensor to keep the ride steady.
Visiobike has many cool security features that include an emergency alert, auto record accident footage, and a pin code unlock. If you get in an accident while riding, your phone will activate the automatic Emergency Services where GPS data will be sent to the emergency phone number and help will be sent if an emergency occurs.
The company is fundraising on IndieGogo to meet its goal of 180,000 euros. So far, they have raised $356 with 39 days still left in the campaign. The team at Visiobike will eventually add more amazing features, such as Google Glass integration.
