VisualSim is a graphical and hierarchical modeling environment where users can construct models of their proposed system using pre-built parameterized library blocks, run simulations over large variations of the topology, parameters and workload, review the reports and make system architecture decisions. All aspects of the system are defined including the electrical, electronics, software, networks and electo-mechanical. The reports provide information on the task completion time, throughput across networks and interfaces, utilization of resource, energy consumed, reliability, quality of arbitration and correctness of decisions. VisualSim is used to bridge the gap between systems engineering and MatLab/implementation for product development; enhance the visibility of the proposed system or mission; and augmenting analytical/ Spreadsheet/ Monte Carlo approaches to improve the accuracy to a more specific range.
VisualSim can be used to model the:
1. Mission of aircrafts, ground stations, moving ground vehicles, and satellites
2. The entire spacecraft, launch vehicle, aircraft or vehicle
3. Sub-systems including the processor, scheduler, networks, software, memory and storage
4. Semiconductor internals
