VME cards handle 24-GbE-port switching

The NETernity 6U VMEbus Gigabit Ethernet switch cards come in two versions. The RM982RC is a configuration-managed switch with 24 copper GbE ports and local or remote control. Management features include support for VLANs, MSTP, trunking, mirroring, and limited SNMP, and it can be configured with two of the ports on the front panel, in either fiber or copper.

The unmanaged RM980RC provides a lower-cost option and comes with 12 or 24 GbE ports routed to the rear I/O. A 22-port version is available with two additional copper ports on the front panel. Both versions are RoHS compliant and capable of Layer-2 switching and routing at wire speed. (RM982RC, $2,000; RM980RC (12 ports), $1,100; RM980RC (24 ports), $1,650 — available now.)
