VMEbus embedded DSP board is modular
The CV4 is part of the manufacturer's line of TMS320C40-based carrier
boards for VMEbus systems. The board has four TIM-40 sites–each suited
for one individually configured TMS320C40 DSP chips. The TIM-40 modules
come with between 384 Kbytes and 1.5 Mbytes of zero-wait-state SRAM and
can run independently of the host processor using their own EPROM or
EEPROM. The fully loaded CV4 board has a 200-MFLOPS capability with the
modules providing access to the six C40 communication links for
multiprocessor systems. Other features include a dBeX32 I/O port, modular
P2 I/O for expansion, 12 buffered external COM ports, a JTAG emulation
port, and a slave VMEbus interface. (Two C40 modules with 768 Kbytes of
SRAM, $9,100; four C40s, $14,500–available now.) Spectrum Signal
