Waterproof automotive connector operates up to 125°C

Hirose has released a low-profile waterproof wire-to-wire connector for demanding automotive, agricultural, and construction vehicles. The ZE064W Series, rated to IP67/IP69K, operates over the temperature range of −40°C to 125°C.

The 2.2-mm-pitch connector features a double-layer spring and three-point contact design for reliable connectivity in high-vibration and -shock environments commonly found in off-highway and transportation applications. Other features include a contact retainer, which prevents incomplete mating, and mating keys that prevent mis-mating when using multiple connectors.

Offering a pull-force strength of 50N, the ZE064W Series connector provides heat-resistance performance up to 125°C, delivering stable contact resistance for up to 3,000 cycles, meeting engine compartment requirements.

Rated to 5 A @ 250 VAC, the connector is designed for a wide range of automotive applications, including automotive converters, inverters, batteries, on-board chargers, and electronic control units. The connector series can also be used in industrial applications.
