HellermannTyton has introduced a heavy-duty nylon edge clip that is designed to route cables along frames or rails in vertical or horizontal applications. The clip incorporates high extraction force via an integrated wedge mechanism that slides alongside an internal stepped slope until snug against the mounting surface.
A very high-bond (VHB) adhesive pad from 3M creates a virtually indestructible weld. That, in turn, allows installers to place the wedge clip into position without concerns about the clip moving or falling off prior to fastening. Additionally, the combination of adhesive and clip’s compression facilitates the extraction force without the need to drill holes on the work surface.
Missy DeBord, product manager at HellermannTyton, says that the wedge clip eliminates the need for additional hardware as well as costly and time-consuming drilling. The clip is made of a proprietary PA66 blend to resist heat and UV exposure.
HellermannTyton’s new nylon edge clip comes in three sizes, and it accommodates material thicknesses of up to 13 mm.
