Wideband I/Q demodulator has IIP2 and dc offset control

The LTC5585 ultrawide bandwidth direct conversion I/Q demodulator operates over a wide frequency range from 700 MHz to 3 GHz, covering virtually all cellular base station frequency bands. The device is capable of baseband output demodulation bandwidth of over 530 MHz, which can support new-generation wideband LTE multimode receivers’ and DPD receivers’ bandwidth requirements. Features include an IIP3 of 25.7 dBm, an IIP2 of 60 dBm at 1.95 GHz, a conversion gain of 2.4 dB, and a noise figure of 12.4 dB.

The amplitude mismatch is typically 0.05 dB, while the phase error is typically 0.7°, both measured at 1.95 GHz. This combination produces a receiver image rejection capability of 43 dB.

The demodulator’s fast turn-on time of 200 ns and turn-off time of 800 ns enables it to be used in burst-mode receivers. The LTC5585 has an on-chip RF transformer, is powered from a single 5-V supply, and draws a total supply current of 200 mA. Housing is in a 24-lead 4 x 4-mm QFN package, and operating temperature is from –40° to 105°C.(From $5.98 ea/1,000 — available now.)
