WiMAX transceiver improves by 10 dB

The 2.3 to 2.7-GHz MAX2839AS WiMAX MIMO RF transceiver uses a dual-receiver architecture to mitigate RF channel fading by as much as 10 dB compared to a single-receiver architecture. Both receivers feature a noise figure at 2.3 dB, –81-dBm sensitivity for a 64-QAM signal at a 5-MHz channel bandwidth, and a 95-dB gain control range that is digitally controlled in 1-dB steps.

WiMAX transceiver improves by 10 dB

The transmitter features a 62-dB gain control range, digitally controlled in 1-dB steps. Housed in a 3.5 x 5.1-mm WLP package, the part operates from a 2.7 to 3.6-V supply and offers a shutdown current of 10 µA. (From $8.62 ea/1,000 — available now.)
