Winged, high-current inductor in 4040 case is industry’s first
Designed to be placed on a cutout PCB, the IHLW-4040CF-11 is offered as the industry’s first winged, high-current inductor in the 4040 case size, with a low profile of 1.2 mm for both sides of the board.
Featuring a frequency range up to 1.0 MHz, the inductor serves as a space- and power-saving solution for VRMs and dc/dc converter applications in end products including mobile devices, notebooks, servers, personal navigation systems, and automotive systems.
The IHLW-4040CF-11 offers an inductance range from 0.10 µH to 2.2 µH, a saturation current range from 14.0 A up to 48 A, heat rating current from 16 A to 46 A, typ dc resistance (DCR) from 0.64 mΩ to 6.83 mΩ, and maximum DCR from 0.70 mΩ to 7.21 mΩ.
The new inductor is said to handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in a RoHS-compliant composite construction that reduces buzz noise, the new device is specified for an operating temperature range of 55 to 125°C. ($0.30 ea/10,000 for U.S. delivery samples and prod qty, available now, 10 to 12 weeks ARO for large orders.)
