Silex Technology America has unveiled a tri-radio module that integrates dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy 5, and 802.15.4-based ZigBee and Thread solutions for the emerging IoT applications in a compact form factor.
The SX-ULPGN-BTZ module combines ubiquitous wireless connectivity with dedicated processing power using Qualcomm’s QCA4020 system-on-chip (SoC) that facilitates the integration of three popular radio communication technologies: 802.11, Bluetooth, and 802.15.4.
The SX-ULPGN-BTZ module comes with software development kits (SDKs) that provide pre-integrated support for Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) device specifications as well as support for AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud connectivity. A Wi-Fi evaluation and development kit, SX-ULPGN-BTZ-EVK , allows developers to evaluate the module’s hardware and software features.
The module also offers hardware-based security that encompasses secure boot, trusted execution environment, encrypted storage, and key provisioning. Additionally, the module supports sensor hub capability for the post-processing of low-power sensor use cases.
The SX-ULPGN-BTZ wireless module is available now. Sample packs and evaluation kits can be purchased from Arrow Electronics , Future Electronics , and Mouser Electronics .
