The 433/868 MHz RN2483 is a radio module uses the LoRa technology low-data-rate wireless networking standard. This standard enables IoT and M2M wireless communication with a range of more than 10 miles (suburban). The unit combines a small 17.8 x 26.3 x 3 mm size with 14 GPIOs for flexibility. It is European R&TTE Directive assessed, uses a 3.6 V supply, and takes 40 mA in transmit (14 dBm, 868 MHz) and 14.2 mA in receive.
The module comes with the LoRaWAN protocol stack, so it can easily connect with the expanding LoRa Alliance infrastructure and it can be used with any MCU with a UART port. LoRa uses a spread-spectrum base modulation and a star topology. Available in May for $10.90 ea/1,000.
