Wireless transceiver cuts power budget by 50%
Intended for RF wireless applications in the sub-1 GHz band, the SPIRIT1 wireless transceiver is claimed to cut power budget by 50% over competing devices. Power consumption is 9 mA in Rx and 21 mA in Tx at 12 dBm. the transceiver is designed to operate both in the license-free ISM and SRD frequency bands at 169, 315, 433, 868, and 915 MHz, but can also be programmed to operate at other additional frequencies in the 300 to 348-MHz, 387 to 470-MHz, and 779 to 956-MHz bands. The SPIRIT1 boasts a receiver sensitivity of -120 dBm.
Additional embedded features include 128-bit data encryption, error correction and detection, FIFO memory blocks, as well as highly flexible and programmable data packet management. Housing is QFN20 4 x 4-mm RoHS packages and operating temperature range is from –40° to 85°C.($1.80 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
