Wirewounds offer power-supply protection

The RWT series wirewound resistors incorporate a standard 5-W wirewound element and a 142C 2-A thermal fuse in a standard vertical-mount ceramic case. The resistors are rated to 2 W and can also be used as a slow-blow resettable fuse.

When the dissipated power generates heat in excess of 142C, the part opens and stops the current flow, with the part returning to its original state once the circuit cools down. Measuring 25 (H) x 13 (W) x 9.5 (D) mm, the resistors come in values from 1 to 100 Ω in tolerances of 5%. ($0.25—8 weeks ARO.)
