World’s smallest portable power outlet surpasses crowdfund goal four times over

Portable chargers are a hot commodity, but this design seems to have everyone’s interest

There’s nothing more frustrating than being on the road and having your phone or tablet run out of power. This feeling of helplessness is further compounded when your charger cannot plug into the car’s cigarette lighter, or you’re in a room without access to a power outlet.

Crowded outlet area

It’s an experience most people have had to go through, which is why companies like ChargeAll are seeing so much success with their on-the-go power packs. As of the time of this writing, the company has surpassed its crowdfunding goal four times over for its new portable power outlet on Indiegogo.

One of the reasons why it is doing so well has to do with its size — small and light, ChargeAll’s portable outlet is easy to pack. Another reason is the fact that it includes a wall outlet, in addition to ports for micro USB or Lighting cables.

This unique feature gives the ChargeAll outlet the ability to charge a bevy of devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Worth noting — any device that requires more than 85 watts of power (like, say, your average microwave) will not work with ChargeAll’s portable power outlet.

There are two options to choose from: the Portable version is the smaller size, and the Powerful version is the larger option. The small size is just a smidge larger than the iPhone 5S (if you’re looking for a point of reference), while the larger model is about an inch longer and wider; the latter option includes an additional USB port (they’re making good use of all that extra space).

Below is a handy chart that shows how many charges you can get out of the ChargeAll portable power outlet before the device itself needs to be recharged:

A $99 contribution to ChargeAll’s Indiegogo campaign will secure the donator their very own (small) ChargeAll portable power outlet; a $139 investment is needed for the larger model.

The campaign is nearing its end, but as mentioned earlier, ChargeAll has already secured its goal of $30,000 some four times over, so expect to see a wider release of the product in the coming months.
