Xeon SBC touts speed, convection cooling

The CC279 SBC is powered by two quad-core Xeon processors operating at up to 1.6 GHz, or two dual-core Xeon processors operating at up to 2.33 GHz, and supports Intel’s virtualization technology. The single-slot board provides high performance at only 100 W in a conduction-cooled design using heat pipes and a copper/aluminum frame.

The card’s chipset features two front-side buses operating at 1,333 Mtransfers/s, with two 8-Gbyte memory banks functioning independently at 10.6 Gbytes/s. The board has quad GbE Ethernet ports with a TCP/IP offloading engine, six USB-2.0, and one com port with RS-232/422, six SATA-2 ports with RAID support, and one PATA port.
